Contestants Vie for Best of Show
The Great Horned Owl, Great Blue Heron and Burrowing Owl seen here will each be on display at the Western Idaho Fair August 21st - 30th, 2009 in Boise, Idaho.
The works from wildlife photographer Bob Whitlatch represent months of field studies of each species.
"Each represents a close examination of these delicate, haunting and exquisite birds. They are moments recorded for all time, when we met on their turf. I was allowed to capture their images with their permission. And as I look back, I am made aware that I was on their holy and sacred ground," said Whitlatch.
